Support Alfie’s Road to Recovery

First and foremost, thank you for visiting Theresa Bateman’s GoFundMe. With many worthy causes in need of funding during late stage capitalism, we present a vital place to donate if you have the means.

As many in Theresa’s community know, her beloved dog Alfie was recently diagnosed with soft tissue sarcoma (STS), a cancerous tumor that requires surgical removal. After already spending thousands of dollars on appointments, imaging, and testing, Theresa received the hopeful news that the cancer has not spread to his other organs. Even better, aside from this tumor, Alfie is still the happy, playful, energetic dog we all know and love. His veterinary team is optimistic that surgery offers him the best chance at many more healthy, happy years.

The costs of veterinary care have added up quickly. After covering the extensive diagnostic testing, Theresa is now facing another significant expense for Alfie's surgery. Like many people in the US, she lives paycheck to paycheck and simply can't take on another major financial burden alone.

Alfie has been more than just a dog, he has been Theresa’s loyal companion, best friend, and a beloved member of her family (and ours). Through countless memories, milestones, and everyday moments, Alfie has brought unconditional love, comfort, and joy into Theresa’s life and nearly everyone else in her bubble.

Writing this on behalf of Theresa (and sweet Alfie), we find ourselves called to make note of Theresa’s immense capacity for kindness and generosity. All who have the privilege of being a part of her loving chosen family would attest to the care she gives to her community and creativity she inspires. She’s intrinsically curious about how to generate as much good as she can, and over our years of friendship and creative partnership she’s proven herself instrumental to our—and so many others—healing.

Theresa and Alfie (and all of us who love them) are grateful for your consideration. Any contribution, big or small, will go directly toward his surgery and continued care.
