Reliable transportation is how Alexus survives. It’s how she gets to her three jobs and supports herself. After a hit-and-run totaled her car, that stability was taken away overnight.

I’m starting this fundraiser for my fellow coworker and dear friend, Alexus Lillie, who is currently facing an incredibly difficult and unexpected situation.

On November 15, 2025 at approximately 2:22 AM, while Alexus was asleep inside her home, her parked car was involved in a hit-and-run accident on the street directly in front of her house. The driver fled the scene, leaving Alexus without transportation and facing a major financial burden through no fault of her own.

Unfortunately, Alexus’s insurance company has totaled her car and is not covering the full amount owed on her loan, meaning she is still responsible for paying off the remaining balance despite no longer having a vehicle. To make matters even more heartbreaking, Alexus had just spent over $2,000 on repairs and installed four brand-new tires shortly before the accident.

Over the past year, Alexus has already endured significant hardship related to this vehicle. She went through two transmission replacements within one year (one at the beginning of this year), leaving her without a car for nearly three months each time. Because these breakdowns always seemed to happen around the same time of year, Alexus has unfortunately gone the past two Christmases and birthdays without a car. Had these setbacks not occurred, she would have been in a much better position financially to withstand this situation. Instead, they’ve compounded into an overwhelming struggle.

Alexus relies heavily on her car to support herself. She currently works three jobs, including caring for the elderly, house cleaning, and housekeeping at the Newtown Athletic Club. Without reliable transportation, she is now struggling to get to work while trying to stay afloat financially.

This unexpected financial hit has placed Alexus in an extremely tough position, and she truly needs support from her community during this time.

All funds raised will go directly toward:

• Paying off the remaining car loan

• Helping Alexus secure reliable transportation

• Covering temporary transportation costs while she works to get back on her feet
