Support Alexson's Battle Against Brain Cancer

Donation protected
For those of you who know Alexson, he is one of the most loving, kind, and devoted men you will ever meet. He is a wonderful husband to his beautiful wife, Whitney, and an amazing father to their two precious children, ages 7 years old and 18 months old. He never hesitates to help anyone in need or offer uplifting advice, encouragement, and prayers. He is one of those we are all lucky to call friend.

And our friend needs us now more than ever. Over the last year, Alexson has struggled with health issues and was diligently seeking answers. As he suffered and his health declined, there was a discovery of a mass on his brain stem. Alexson was admitted to Shands where he underwent major brain surgery on March 5, 2024. During his 14 day stay at Shands, he and his family received the devastating news that Alexson has been diagnosed with Primary Central Nervous System Lymphoma. This is a rare cancer that affects the central nervous system in which malignant cells form in the lymph tissue of the brain, spinal cord, or spinal fluid.

Alexson begins aggressive chemotherapy treatments on Monday, March 18, 2024 with the hope to beat this terrible disease. Due to his only having one kidney, he will be attempting to take the oral chemotherapy route as it is safer for him, but currently not covered by insurance. The family will also be seeking a second opinion due to the nature of this rare cancer and the limited number of specialists in this area, which is also not covered by insurance. Treatment has already been and will continue to be costly. His brain surgery and extended hospital stay, as well as physical therapy, occupational therapy, medications, lab draws, specialized diet, plus the costs just to support a family are all adding up very quickly.

We are starting this account to help offset the rising medical expenses for Alexson's treatment. Alexson would never ask for this on his own accord, and while we love and appreciate his humble personality, we pray that we can come together and bless the Arana family as they walk through one of the most difficult times of their lives. Any support, financially and especially through prayer, is received with the utmost gratitude.

Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for You are my praise. Jeremiah 17:14
