On December 5, 2025, my sister Alex went to the ER with severe pain in her left pelvic region. We initially thought it was a rupturing ovarian cyst, but after an ultrasound and a CT scan, doctors discovered a 25 cm mass, the size of a cantaloupe, from her left ovary. She was quickly referred to an OB oncologist and scheduled for an open surgery on December 11, 2025, at GBMC. During the surgery, her left ovary and the mass will be removed, and the doctors will test the mass for any abnormalities. We are hoping for the best possible outcome and that will be all the surgery entails.
Alex will be out of work for at least seven weeks while she recovers. Both she and her partner, Cruz, contribute to their rent and groceries, so the funds raised here will go directly toward covering Alex’s medical bills, which will be astronomical, housing, everyday bills, and groceries during her recovery. Our family will be helping as much as possible, but with your support we can help them stay comfortable, less stressed, and allow them focus on her healing. Thank you to anyone who is reading Alex’s story. Any contribution, whether it’s positive thoughts or financial support, is greatly appreciated. Your kindness and generosity mean the world to us.
