Alex has been fighting stage four liver cancer for over four years. Throughout this journey, he and my mother have traveled back and forth to the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix for treatments and to prepare for a possible transplant. The process has been long and exhausting, both emotionally and financially, but we recently received the incredible news that a donor was found. On Sunday, Alex got the call to pack his bags and head to the clinic for his transplant.
Now, as Alex begins his recovery, both he and my mother will be out of work for an extended period. Alex will need about four months to heal, and my mom will be by his side as his full-time caregiver for at least two months. This means they will need help covering medical expenses, rent, and even pet sitter fees while they are away from home. The financial strain is significant, and we are reaching out to our community for support.
We are truly humbled and blessed that Alex was able to find a donor. God bless him and his family during this time. Thank you. And Walmart, for being such an incredible employer. They have been there since the beginning with only Alex’s best interest in mind. We are so grateful for everything they have given to us during this difficult time.
He has been battling stage four liver cancer for a while now, causing many problems—not just with his liver, but with the complications that come along with it. Any support you can offer during this time would mean the world to our family. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
