After graduating from UVA, I pursued a 7 year career in the Organ Donation/Transplant industry, working as a Transplant Coordinator + Tissue Recovery Specialist. I grew deeply dedicated to the work I was doing, but lacked a deeper sense of identity to myself.

I walked away from the medical field to pursue creative avenues that allowed me to attune myself to my inner truth of being transgender. While starting hormone replacement therapy, I grew deeply passionate about photography, videography, and cinematography. I was enamored with the ability to capture moments and tell stories through a lens. Soon after, I started my own LLC and proceeded to take on professional clients, commercial projects and a wide variety of still photography events, that expanded my artistic career over the next 5 years, further than I had anticipated.

While my creative work was fulfilling, I’ve found myself nostalgic for the meaningful purpose my previous career brought me.

After enduring severe financial stress while relocating and assimilating to my new home; where I was unable to meet all my needs, I decided to apply for my state’s Organ Procurement Organization, in hopes and attempt to get back into the industry. Within a week I had my first interview, days later my second round, and by the following week, an amazing offer letter for more than I have ever made, as long as I met the requirements prior to my initial start date of 04/20/2026.

As I am struggling to get all my requirements met for my new position that starts this upcoming Monday, I’m reaching my hand out to the universe and to anyone that can share some aide to help me cover the immediate costs of: DMV fees, car insurance, nursing endorsement fees and uniform/scrubs.
