My name is Megan Jones, and I’m a friend of the Khadayat family. I’ve created this fundraiser to help support them during this incredibly difficult time.

On June 3rd, Alex was taken to the Gainesville ER, where he tragically coded and had to be resuscitated. He was transferred to Arthur M. Blank Hospital, where he remains in the Pediatric ICU, sedated and on a ventilator due to respiratory failure. At this time, doctors are still working to determine the cause, and there’s no clear timeline for his recovery.

As Alex fights for his life, his family is doing everything they can to be by his side. His aunt has stepped in to care for his brothers at home, missing work to ensure they are safe and supported during this overwhelming time.

This GoFundMe is to help relieve some of the financial strain — from medical expenses to lost income — so the family can focus fully on Alex’s care and well-being.
