Support Alex’s Family After Lightning Strike Destroys Home
Donation protected
While we were all safe in our homes sleeping in the early hours of Anzac Day, a devastating lightning strike hit Alex’s family home, causing major destruction.
The lightning physically blew electrical sockets and light fittings out of walls and ceilings, and, most frightening of all, struck their teenage daughter. By an incredible miracle, she survived, but the emotional and physical toll has been heavy.
Despite their humour on news interviews which broadcasts their true Aussie spirit in seeing the best in the situation and looking to get on with it, this family has now lost everything that was connected to an electrical outlet, including a caravan which they thought could be their backup power in this emergency.
Their home now has no power apart from a few quick fixes, and all their appliances like the fridge, oven, washing machine, gaming consoles, tvs and phone chargers have been destroyed. Some of the children have had to stay with friends while the family works to make their home safe and livable again.
This story even made the news because of how rare and serious the strike was: https://youtu.be/XX5I1QAm83M
We’re asking for help to support Alex’s family as they rebuild and recover. Donations will go directly towards repairing the house, replacing essential appliances, and helping bring their family back together under one roof.
Thank you for your support, prayers, and kindness during this time.
