I’d like to introduce you to my grandpa, Alex.
If you know my grandpa, you know he is the most selfless, hilarious, live-in-the-moment, outgoing, and ‘love you with his whole heart’ kind of man.
He was born in Giza, Egypt, before moving to the United States in 1995. Hardworking would be an absolute understatement to describe his dedication in every profession he invests himself in to provide for everyone he loves.
My grandpa and grandma have been married for over 27 years. They are the epitome of two hearts mended into one! He’s never late running her bath, makes sure she always has a cup of tea, and will always keep her on her toes with his dance moves. He’s always bringing home sentimental gifts from Egypt, cooking a delicious meal and demolishing all his grandchildren in soccer. Together they have 5 children, 8 grandchildren and one cat named Cleopatra who demands all of his attention.
Now, on to the heavy stuff.
Unfortunately, he’s been recently diagnosed with undetected Stage 4 Renal Cell Carcinoma Cancer, which has already metastasized. This has been extremely difficult for my grandpa and family to understand, accept and process. It’s also served as a reminder that anything could happen when you least expect it and that time is truly taken for granted.
The medical bills have started their course, and as treatment plans and procedures begin, they continue to rise. My grandpa has given everything he has to help everyone, even when he didn’t have it. To ask for help, simply isn’t something that he’s used to.
So here we are, asking for anyone who is able to help on behalf of all of his loved ones. Because the very last thing we want my grandpa and grandma to have to worry about is how everything will be paid for.
If you are able, anything helps. My family would be incredibly grateful.
Simply keeping him in your thoughts and prayers as he starts this rigorous cancer journey means everything.
Thank you
His family, friends and loved ones
