Support Alexis Safali's Battle with Cancer
Donation protected
I have had the privilege of knowing Alexis Safali for over six years. Just as he is known as Uncle to all his family, to all the children of his compound, to his neighbors and entire community, he so quickly became my Uncle too. Within my first month of relocating away from my family and meeting him, I saw him walking back from the store with bags upon bags of groceries. I curiously asked him what all of them were for. His response? "I have to feed a family of four," referencing me and two others who regularly shared meals. This kindness and eagerness to share love along with his light-hearted, youthful, and determined nature are just a few things that make Uncle Safali so special and dear to my heart.
Fast forward. After years of working toward his goal of being accepted into and completing a Juris Doctor program, Uncle Safali was diagnosed with stage three colorectal cancer in February, just four months from graduation. His persistence and positive outlook allowed him to continue on with radiation treatment in between classes and graduate in May of 2019 as Mr. Alexis Safali, J.D. Unfortunately his plans of continuing on to take the bar exam in July were interrupted with the beginning of chemotherapy treatment that has left him weak and unable to work to provide for himself. Between an upcoming surgery followed by six+ months of chemotherapy and difficulties with insurance, the financial costs of this unexpected challenge have become more than Safali is able to cover on his own.
Every donation you can provide on this platform will go straight to Safali's medical care and living expenses so he can continue fighting, continue smiling, and continue being the beloved Father, Husband, Uncle, and Friend that he is to so many. Despite feeling physically weak, his heart remains strong and smile big.
"To everything I say, It Is Possible." - Uncle Safali
Thank you so much for your time and your contribution.
