Support Alexis in Her Fight Against MS
Donation protected
On May 21st, Alexis woke up with a severe headache, slurred speech, and loss of vision in her left eye. She was brought to the emergency room where they did a CT scan that showed swelling on the left side of her brain. They then did an MRI, and the MRI showed multiple lesions in her brain and brain stem. She was then transferred by ambulance to St. Cloud and was admitted and treated with high-dose steroids for 4 days. She followed up with neurology a week later and was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.
About three weeks after being diagnosed, she started getting very weak on her left side to the point she could not use her left hand, could not walk unsupported, and could not control her left eye movement. We brought her back to the emergency room in St. Cloud. They did an MRI, and it showed several more new lesions in her brain and brain stem. She was admitted for 5 days, and they've confirmed she has a very aggressive form of MS. They will be starting her on an Ocrevus infusion to try and help slow the progression down. During this time, she is unable to work. We are praying we can slow this down and she can regain her strength.
