In early fall, Alexis Brown began experiencing symptoms that left her and her family deeply concerned. After a series of medical appointments and an MRI, doctors discovered multiple lesions on her brain. The weeks that followed were filled with uncertainty, as Alexis spent time in and out of the hospital. Eventually, she received a diagnosis of Primary Central Nervous System Vasculitis—a rare and serious autoimmune disease.
Alexis now faces a challenging road ahead, with at least six months of chemotherapy and steroid treatments at Barnes Jewish Hospital and lifelong immune suppressant therapy. The impact on the Brown family has been profound. To focus on Alexis’s health, they have made the difficult decision to temporarily close their business, resulting in a significant loss of income. Alexis is also unable to continue her work cleaning cabins and homes. Josh is currently working hard to complete his degree in aviation technology at SIU this spring. On top of these financial challenges, the family must cover travel and housing expenses while Alexis receives her treatments away from home.
Calling on the village! The Brown family needs our love and support. They are so grateful for everyone who has reached out to offer help in whatever way they can. If you have the means to help, please consider making a donation to ease the burden on their family during this difficult time. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference.
