My son Alexis (AJSPOV) is an influencer and the anchor of our family business. Recently, he was arrested for a prank involving AI-generated videos, and now faces charges in both Puerto Rico and Seminole, Florida. The case has become high profile, with coverage on many media outlets, and Alexis is currently incarcerated, awaiting bond, which presently is 15,000. The judge has required that a family member be present with him if he is released while awaiting court procedures, which means I need to be by his side during this difficult time.
As a single disabled parent, I have raised five children who mean the world to me. Alexis has always helped support our household, and his absence has left our family business struggling. The funds raised here will go directly toward his legal defense and bonds. I am terrified at the thought of Alexis being convicted and sentenced without a proper defense, especially since he hasn't broken any laws that are currently applicable. It feels like the authorities want to use laws that don't apply in order to penalize him, set a precedent, and restrict our freedom of speech and expression. I have spoken to him as to the dangers of doing this pranks, but his addiction from the Social Networks since his younger years, of incrementing followers and views on his profile have override the consequences he could be expose to, specially with the lack of laws regulating Ai, so that it will be totally clear what constitutes a crime. I’m a devoted Christian , praying to God that Alexis will use his talents with divine purpose propagating the salvation plan that Jesus Christ offers the world.
