Hi, my name is Alexis, and I’m a Veterinary student with a passion for conservation and interest in wildlife, exotic and large animal medicine! I have been given the incredible opportunity to travel to South Africa next year for a 2-week Introduction to Conservation Medicine course, where I’ll gain hands-on experience working alongside wildlife Veterinarians, learn capture and care techniques for large animals, assist in community outreach in rural villages, and contribute to conservation efforts that protect endangered species. This once-in-a-lifetime program will help me grow as a future Veterinarian while giving me the tools and confidence to advocate for conservation and play a role in protecting these extraordinary animals.
