Support Alexia's Spinal Recovery Journey

Hi, my name is Alexia. This is well out of my comfort zone but I’m desperately requesting assistance to help cover bills and medical bills. Several years ago I was victim to two drunk driver hitting me causing major damage to my spine. I’ve since had to have 5 spinal surgeries. The most recent surgery was on 6/28/2024. Several of these surgeries have cost money out of pocket that I did not have as an “physician deposit” and if I didn’t I was very likely to be paralyzed. One surgery was due to my anterior fusion attempt in October 2023 being deemed a failure. The hardware placed became lose and the plate migrated in my spine. It caused a screw to break and fractured me C6 level. The most recent, this past Friday, I went to be seen for an immense amount of pain. I was taken straight back to a room and had an MRI done. From there I was immediately transferred to Charleston, SC and admitted to MUSC. I went 48 hours without food waiting to see what another round of testing showed. Ultimately my hardware had lossened and caused spinal cord damage. I was immediately prepped for surgery once a room became available. They operated on my neck through BOTH the anterior (front) and posterior (back). i was been on bed rest in the hospital for days this past week with a catheter. I slowly worked with PT to prepare for release. I was fitted for a heavy duty back brace in which I’ll wear anytime I am up and will wear a C-collar until further notice. To say the least, I’m devestated. I feel so heart broken. I was just getting ready to get my kiddos home. And now I have no clue when I’ll be in any condition to care for them again. I’ll be bed ridden for god know how long and once again out of work. at this point I just need everyone to please send all the positive thoughts, surround me with prayers, and love. ❤️I’m a single mom to two babies and being out of work several times has really taken a toll as well as the medical bills piling in from these surgeries. I’m now fused from C2-T2 and we are all crossing fingers and praying that this surgery was successful. I’m drowning financially at this point. Being out of work 3 times in six months and being a single mother on top of it is killing me. I could use any and all support to help pay the overwhelming amount of bills that have piled up during this surgery and leave of absence from work
