Out of the thousands of people who entered the lottery for this race, I was one of only 200 runners selected.
My name is Alexa Scoggins, and I am in my final year of pursuing my Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Because of this academic commitment, I am not currently in a position to afford the expenses associated with this race.
BPN is a brand that has inspired me to run my first half marathon, my first full marathon, a HYROX competition, create content, and continue training for my second marathon. This brand truly means so much to me.
When I signed up for the lottery for this 50-mile ultramarathon, I never thought I would actually be selected—but by God’s plan, I was. I’ve prayed for an opportunity like this, and I feel incredibly blessed to be in this position.
Running this race feels like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, especially given how much this brand has grown and the community it has built.
It would mean the world to me if those who support my personal and fitness journey could help me with the costs of flights to Texas, hotel fees, entry fees, and the gear I’ll need (such as a headlamp, shoes, etc.).
Any extra funds will be donated to my DPT program’s service-learning project, which supports those experiencing homelessness and others in need in the Pittsburgh area.
Thank you so much for your time, consideration, and support!
Sincerely,
Alexa Scoggins
