Support Alexa's Fight Against Cancer

Donation protected
On March 29th, just four days after her 35th birthday, Alexa was diagnosed with Stage 2 Triple Negative Breast Cancer. This diagnosis came after months of feeling that something was off with her body and an exhausting search for answers. In early March, she discovered multiple lumps in her upper breast and armpit. Determined to get an immediate evaluation, she persistently called multiple clinics, pleading for an urgent appointment. Her persistence paid off when she found a compassionate office that agreed to see her right away, leading to the timely diagnosis.
There is obviously no good time for cancer to enter one's life. For Alexa, being 35 and deeply focused on her growing interior design business, Two Muse Studios, she thought she had time to start a family later. This plan was abruptly disrupted by her diagnosis, as her aggressive treatment plan would impact her reproductive health. Always having dreamt of becoming a mother, Alexa swiftly took action to begin the process of IVF with her life partner, Evan.
Alexa and Evan live in Los Angeles, California. Evan is a freelance editor and the founder of Wild Oz Film, while Alexa is the cofounder of Two Muse Studios. Both are incredibly driven, with a deep passion for their work and the life they have built together, which includes their beloved dog-son, Hanz.
The majority of Alexa and Evan's family and friends reside on the East Coast, which makes this time especially challenging due to the lack of physical support. However, many people have been reaching out and helping from afar, which has brought a great deal of love and light to their hearts. The outpouring of concern and willingness to help has shown them how deeply people care about their unfortunate situation.
Alexa began her treatment on May 2nd. It's no secret that this process is incredibly expensive and nearly impossible to keep up with the medical bills. Insurance coverage is notoriously inadequate, adding to the financial strain. With Alexa being sick, she can’t work to her full potential. Despite being a resilient woman and striving to remain as involved in her business as possible, the reality of her illness limits her ability to work as she normally would. Adding to their financial strain, Evan's freelance position at a company is abruptly coming to an end in the next few weeks. This unexpected development further exacerbates their already challenging situation, making it even more difficult to manage their expenses during this critical time.
I come to you from Los Angeles, where I am visiting to help in any way I can, providing Evan with some relief and being there for my best friend, Alexa. Last night as I sat beside them, they pulled out their big binder of meticulously organized medical bills. They go through this binder weekly, stamping "paid" on the bills they managed to pay and filing the larger, unpaid bills together, planning to call for payment plans. Shockingly, many of these bills are already marked as final notices, even though Alexa's diagnosis and treatment only began last month. The binder is already full, and they are starting a new one. This broke my heart; this should be the last thing they need to worry about. Alexa should be focusing on getting well and resting. It's all so unfair, and sadly, it's a story all too familiar to many sick people.
This is only the start of a long journey ahead for Alexa and Evan. Many loved ones have been reaching out, asking what they can do and what they can send. Alexa is incredibly appreciative of the overwhelming support she has received, with numerous care packages arriving from those who care about her. This support means the world to her and Evan during this challenging time.
We created this page for donations to Alexa and Evan to help cover medical expenses and alleviate some of the financial burden that has been created and will continue to grow. We believe this is the best way for friends, loved ones, and anyone who empathizes with their situation to support two amazing people whose lives have come to a halt due to this disruptive and terrifying diagnosis. Your contributions will help Alexa and Evan focus on her recovery without the overwhelming stress of financial strain. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
