My 21 year old daughter Alexa had routine hip surgery on August 5, going into surgery as a healthy young adult- the hip surgery was due to hip dysplasia
unfortunately since that day, everyday life has changed for the entire family. We have been in and out of hospitals continuously. She has started with syncope that turned into consistent (fall on the floor) seizures and she had to be intubated twice. Out of desperation, since no one could figure out why she was having seizures We made two trips to the Mayo Clinic Still with no answers we found a doctor willing to find the answer two hours away . We found out she has Neuroborreliosis. This is a Lyme disorder that affects the nervous system and is very difficult to treat. Throughout this journey, we have incurred a ridiculous amount of medical debt, since many of the doctors and procedures are not covered by our insurance.
We are currently trying to get Lyme treatments as well as testing to ensure she has the best treatment. Her lab test will be $780 cash because they also don’t take my insurance. I am hoping to take her to get IV infusions to at least allow her to function as a normal human being.
we have recieved a formal diagnosis from a urine dna test. She needs to see a specialist in NY that is 2000 out of pocket for first visit and 350 per visit. She just needs enough to see this doctor. Even 10 dollars helps
Thank you!,,,,,,
