My name is Alexandre Dossin. I am a concert pianist and Professor of Piano at the University of Oregon, born and raised in Porto Alegre, in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul. The images and videos from the recent, historic flooding in my beloved hometown have been heart-breaking, and I can’t stop thinking about them.

In 1997 I was awarded the prestigious award “Ambassador of Rio Grande do Sul” by the state government, and I now feel compelled to act in this honorary capacity.

Please help me send much-needed financial help to this unprecedented tragedy. Millions of people were affected, and hundreds of thousands are in need of shelter. This is a tragedy of unprecedented magnitude, and it has not received the international attention it deserves.

All proceeds from this fundraising will be sent to the Instituto Victoria Nahon in Porto Alegre (https://www.instagram.com/institutovictorianahon/ )

I am familiar with this organization and know that it distributes 100% of its proceeds to those in need.

Thanks to your generosity, many will find comfort during this

dark period in the history of this amazing city.
