Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out with a very personal and difficult request. Over the past few months, Alexandra's life has completely changed due to a severe case of Crohn’s disease.
Since the diagnosis, she's had around 18 doctor visits, two emergency hospital stays—one of which lasted a week and involved a scope—and surgery during the second visit. In just four months, she's undergone blood work about 15 times, tried multiple rounds of antibiotics, steroids, and biologic medications. Unfortunately, she's developed allergic reactions to several of them, so we’re still trying to find something her body will tolerate.
During this time, she's lost nearly 70 pounds, now weigh under 100 lbs. On top of that, she developed MRSA, which led to sepsis—a terrifying experience that she was lucky to survive. She's also now anemic, in pain all the time, and extremely fatigued most of the time.
She has missed countless days of work. Despite all the treatments, she hasn’t made the progress that we her family, friends, and Drs have hoped for. We are still looking at more appointments, more scopes, more tests, and more medication trials to see what will help—if anything.
There was even a chance she might need to have her colon removed, but we decided to try every other possible medical route first. That’s what we’re still doing—fighting, hoping, and trying.
The medical bills, prescriptions, and lost wages are piling up, and it’s becoming overwhelming. That’s why we are asking for help. Anything you can give—whether it’s financial support or simply sharing this page—would mean the world to us.
We don't know how she does it living every day in agony but yet continues to smile and laugh, continues to support others, trying to keep others happy, and bringing positivity everywhere she goes.
Thank you for taking the time to read her story. Thank you for caring. And thank you for helping us fight to get her life back.
With gratitude,
Alexandra, her family, and friends.
