I am asking for your help as my family and I are going through an extremely challenging and difficult time.

My name is Alexandra Cahane and I am 33 year old single mom to two amazing kids. I am currently in the middle of a divorce with my kids father, who, to date, has not given us a penny of support. My kids live with me full time so his failure to provide us with support or pay any of the family’s debts incurred while we were married has been a real financial burden.

I work full time to support myself and my children but in mid July I woke up with a fever of 103F and severe headaches which sent me to the ER. After being admitted, I was in and out of the hospital for 6 weeks, including being in an ICU for two of those weeks,as I went into septic shock and had multiple emergency procedures on my left kidney.

During this time, I used all my accrued vacation, sick and personal time due to this illness . My mother has helped me but she is not able to anymore. This has caused me great stress as I have been struggling since to pay my basic monthly expenses and medical bills.

While I hate asking for help, I graciously would appreciate it if you are able to help with even the smallest donation. If you are not able to help financially, it would mean a lot to me, if you would spread my page to others who can possibly help.
