Hello! My name is Alexander Armstrong and I am currently a senior at the Los Angeles Film School in Hollywood, CA. I started this campaign to raise funds for my thesis film, "22" which will begin shooting in June 2024. "22" tells the story of Brian Bradshaw, a young U.S. military veteran struggling with Post-traumatic stress disorder. One night, in a fit of despair, Brian attempts to take his own life, however, the ghosts of his fallen comrades intervene and attempt to remind him that life is still worth living.
When I began narrowing down ideas for my thesis, I outlined several different scripts which were a lot more "fun," but decided to tell a more personal story. Trauma, anxiety, depression, and suicide are certainly not exclusive to the military community, however, as a veteran who has lost several friends to their inner struggles over the past few years, I wanted to shed light on this traditionally taboo subject. My goal is to make a film that serves as both a tribute to those who have succumbed to their inner demons, as well as a reminder to anyone struggling (military or not) that they are still loved.
Your contributions will help us obtain the best props and equipment, pay our actors, acquire costumes, ensure a smooth post-production process, and most importantly, feed our hardworking cast and crew. Every donation will go a long way in helping us bring this film to life, and is of course, greatly appreciated. I can't wait to share the finished product with you all, but until then, my sincerest thanks for any donation you are able to make!
