What Happened:
My name is Olga Melikhova, and I live in Gaithersburg, Maryland. I’m originally from Uzbekistan, a country in Central Asia with a rich history as a crossroads of many cultures and civilizations. I feel deeply connected to this beautiful country, not only because I grew up there but also because my parents still live there.
A month ago, I received devastating news that has shaken our family to its core - my father, Alexander, was diagnosed with stomach cancer. To keep him healthy and alive, we need to act quickly. Unfortunately, we discovered that the medical resources and treatments he urgently needs are unavailable in Uzbekistan. This means we must take him abroad for specialized care, which is not only emotionally challenging but also financially overwhelming.
Without help, we won’t be able to cover the costs of his treatment, travel, and accommodation. Our family has been able to cover the first stage of his treatment, which has already begun, but we need your support to continue this fight.
My dad is an active, joyful, and kind person. He loves nature and enjoys fishing and hiking in the mountains. He has a big, loving family, including grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and he easily connects with people of all ages.
How You Can Help:
Any contribution to his treatment, no matter how small, will bring us one step closer to giving him the care he deserves. Even sharing this post on your social media would be a huge help. Your support and prayers are significant and deeply appreciated.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story!
