My name is April London. I am the mother of 25 year old Alexander London. In February 2024 he was diagnosed with aggressive medullary thyroid cancer. It all started a year ago around Thanksgiving, when Alex started losing his voice. By Christmas he had no voice at all. New years we saw our first specialist and he ordered scans, which lead to him having a biopsy then his diagnoses of medullary thyroid cancer. Not knowing how bad it was, we went to another specialist whom specializes in cancer of the neck. After many visits and treatments, they were finally able to shrink it to do surgery in October. It was wrapped around some major arteries that had them very concerned, so they postponed until they got it managed. October 3rd he had surgery. Full thyroid removal except left parathyroid. They also had to remove many lymphnodes and some nerves. Now Alex is going through radiation. He has to travel to clarion one each day, except weekends and holidays for 33 treatments.
