Support Alexander Flores' Fight Against DIPG

On August 30th, 2024, we received the horrible news from our oncologist that my nephew Alexander Flores, 9 years old, was diagnosed with an inoperable aggressive brain tumor (DIPG). We were informed that individuals with this condition have an eleven-month median live span and only quality of life procedures can be considered. Meaning, radiation would not prolong life but help him to not suffer. As one can imagine this was devastating to hear. After much research we were able to identify treatments which have shown success for those with this particular diagnosis and so we will be seeking treatment from the Burzynski Clinic in Texas. Alexander was deemed a qualified candidate to be treated at the Burzynski Clinic in Houston, Texas. Unfortunately, this sort of medical treatment is not covered by insurance and will need to be paid for out of pocket. The treatment is $17,000 per month. Treatment for an aggressive cancer as this is expected to be twelve months. At this time, he has been taken in for the consultation, in Texas, and two sets of equipment along with the first month of treatment have begun this week of September 23rd. The initial payment of $20,000 was due on this date and funds have been withdrawn 100% from the family's retirement and savings accounts.
