Hi! My name is Alex and I have cancer. Again.

Earlier today, I was diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumor of my appendix.

What does that mean?

I have cancer, again.

What are the next steps?

I will have to have another surgery, where they will remove the right side of my large intestine and reattach my small intestine to the middle part of the large intestine.

I will also see an oncologist to see if I will need chemo or any other treatments after surgery.

When?

In the next 3-4 weeks or so. They need to schedule me with two surgeons. It will take a bit of time, but I should have a date by the end of the week.

What can you do?

I will also be off work, without pay, because I just burned all my PTO for the appendix surgery time off.

Right now I'm scared and angry. Angry that no one listened to me, one of the many times I said my appendix was the issue for the past 5 years.
