Support Alex's Longboard Surfing Competitions

Aloha. My name is Alex Ranne. I am a 15 year old boy born and raised on the Big Island of Hawaii. My local surf spot is Honoli’i.

When I was younger I used to surf at Pohoiki, but sadly in 2018 it got covered by the lava when Kilauea erupted. My house was impacted as well.

I am a surfer, competitive swimmer, freediver and fisherman. In high school, I am on track to receive an Honors Diploma and attend college on Oahu.

Surfing and being a waterman is my life. I love it. I am a competitive athlete in surfing and would love to be a professional. I was five years old when I rode my first wave on a surfboard. I started shortboarding and then went to Waikiki and really fell in love with the bigger boards, nose riding in particular. I ride a 9’6”. I want to compete in more surf contests on other islands and the mainland.

I am ranked #2 on the Big Island and #3 in the State of Hawaii in longboarding.

I’ve had five Top-3 Finishes in my eight months of competitive surfing.

After competing in the State Championship, I am preparing for the National Championship in Oceanside, CA.

I am looking forward to competing in the 2024 USA Surfing Championship in Oceanside, CA. I am searching for potential sponsors to help me get to Nationals and to support my continued growth in my competitive longboard surfing career.
