Hi! My name is Alex Murphy, and I was diagnosed with Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP), which is a chronic autoimmune disorder affecting the nerves in my arms and legs, in June 2022 at 24 years old.
I need IVIG infusions still to keep myself functional and able to do my primary job and dream career as a physical therapist, but they are incredibly expensive. These infusions have transformed my health and helped me defy the odds, going from unable to walk back in June 2022 to dancing with energy conservation techniques a year later. Even with United Healthcare insurance, I currently have an outstanding bill through VCU that I am struggling to pay. I have applied to co-pay assistance programs, attempted negotiating, and make too much to qualify for financial assistance; therefore, the original balance has stayed in place. I currently work 3 jobs (1 full-time, 2 part-time), and paying this in full myself will be a significant financial blow for me. I would be incredibly grateful for any amount of help you’re willing to give.
