As many of you may know, my nephew Alex Morgan sustained significant serious injuries in a devastating 2-story fall this past Monday. Alex is a kind, loving, and vibrant young man who has spent the last 3 years living out his dreams while teaching children to speak English in South Korea. Kindly, keep Alex and our family in your prayers as they navigate the difficult road that lies ahead.
The fall has left Alex with a fractured knee and a concussion, as well as multiple jaw fractures, and the loss of about 6 teeth. He is currently facing multiple surgeries and an extended hospital stay. His first major surgery is currently scheduled for this upcoming Monday.
Alex's mother, Conni, has flown to Korea to be by his side. While she is incredibly grateful to be there, she is sadly limited to only one hour of visiting time per day. This is crushing! That, coupled with the language barrier, has not been easy. Fortunately, God sent her an angel in the form of a man named Yoshi. Alex met Yoshi when he recently started to attend a new church. Yoshi spent an entire day helping her navigate the hospital and translating for her shortly after she arrived. No matter what, there is always good in the world and light from the Lord.
Alex's father, Mark, and his sister, Cassi, are doing all they can while they remain in Fort Myers. Being unable to be by Alex's side is incredibly difficult on them as well. Given the lengthy recovery Alex is facing, they may have to each take a turn monitoring his care and recovery in the coming months.
Clearly, medical, travel, and loss of income expenses will continue to mount for some time given the situation. Donations of any size to help mitigate these expenses would be greatly appreciated.
Alex and our family cannot thank everyone enough for their outpouring of support, love, and prayers. With that love and support, together with an unshakable faith in God above, we know that Alex's body will heal and his spirit will be sustained.
