Support Alex Mitchell's Kidney Transplant Journey

I hope this message finds you in good health and spirits. I am writing this GoFundMe for my friend Alex Mitchell, who is in kidney failure and has just been approved for a kidney transplant on April 22, 2025. Alex has been on hemodialysis since 2022 because of her Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). Alex is in need of support for this life-changing operation and journey.

Alex is a resilient and bright light in so many people's lives, so much so that a wonderful friend of hers has volunteered to be a kidney donor for her. Unfortunately, all issues are not solved just by finding a donor kidney. Her donor is not an exact match for her kidney type, so she has been waiting to find a match since April 2023. It took two years, but just this week, a matching donor was found for her. This is great and long-awaited news!

This GoFundMe for Alex will help offset the cost of her aftercare treatment, which is substantial. Alex cannot work, cannot drive, cannot lift over 5 lbs, and will need help with day-to-day activities. She needs a caregiver and assistance for 45 days after surgery to help her with day-to-day tasks, including help with her six-year-old son.

ANY CONTRIBUTION, no matter how small, will help to offset the gigantic amount of money she will have to pay out of pocket. Insurance does not help with many costs.
