Support Alex Laurenzi's Debut Album - Monet's "Water Lilies"
Donation protected
Since my first year in college, I have been obsessed with Claude Monet and his "Water Lilies". The summer before my senior year, in 2019, I was given the opportunity and the funding to spend a few weeks immersed in the famous paintings at the Musée de l'Orangerie in Paris. My goal was to take what inspired me on the canvases and capture them into song. 8 massive paintings turned into an all original, 8-song, 75-minute suite. After some test runs in 2019 at school, I moved to New York in late 2020, rewrote some of the music, assembled the band, and after 6 performances between New Jersey and New York City, it is finally time for us to record the music.
In just a few days, the band will be recording the suite, and we want to invite you to be part of the process! Making a record in 2025 as an independent jazz artist is an expensive endeavor, but with your help we can do something very special with this project and reach new audiences. I am honored to have maestro Rufus Reid producing the record, along with my stellar band of Noah Halpern, Birsa Chatterjee, Joe Block, Solomon Gottfried, and Connor Parks. Your support helps me pay for these collaborators, studio time, our audio engineer John, mixing and mastering, and distribution.
All donations of any size are welcome, but if you are interested in some of the available perks, here is what you can get with your donation:
