Hello everyone!

My name is Alex Kalfoglou and I am a Senior at Morristown High School and a Junior Assistant Scoutmaster with Morris Plains’ BSA Troop 39. I am pursuing the rank of Eagle Scout and I am honored to share my Eagle Scout project with you.

My Eagle Project is the Beautification of VFW Post 3401 Mock Grave, located at 45 Tabor Road, Morris Plains, New Jersey. This project involves relocating and beautifying the existing mock grave as the current site would greatly benefit from a renovation to enhance the dignified space. My goal is to create a serene and solemn area which serves as a gathering place for personal reflection and is utilized during VFW and community commemorations, paying tribute to those who served our country.

The project will involve installing a flagstone pathway which surrounds a new grave area, to be defined with polished white stone. The grave area will be bordered by darker stones accentuated with low maintenance, slow growth plantings. A new flagpole and a new headstone will also be installed.

This project will beautify the VFW Post, foster community pride and remembrance, and provide a lasting tribute to America’s fallen heroes.

I am asking for your support to help me cover the cost of materials, plants, and tools. Every contribution, no matter the size, is greatly appreciated and will help me achieve this vision, make a lasting impact in our community, and earn the coveted rank of Eagle Scout.
