This year was supposed to be a beautiful new beginning for our family. Alex and I are both self-employed, and after working hard to build our businesses, we finally moved into a new home that felt like the fresh start we’d been dreaming of. We were so excited to welcome our baby girl, Hazel, into our lives.
Heartbreakingly, at 15 weeks, we miscarried and lost our sweet Hazel.
This has been the most devastating experience of our lives; emotionally, physically, and financially. As self-employed and uninsured parents, we’re responsible for the full cost of the medical procedures, follow-up care, and treatment surrounding the miscarriage. We’ve also been encouraged to take time off to heal both physically and mentally, but time off means no income for either of us.
We’re doing everything we can to stay afloat, but the sudden medical expenses combined with the loss of work has put us in a difficult place. Asking for help is not easy for us, but we’re reaching out to our community in hopes of easing some of the financial stress during this painful time.
Any support, whether through donations, sharing this page, or simply sending love means more to us than we can express. It would help cover medical bills, basic living expenses, and give us the time and space we need to heal and grieve our daughter.
Thank you for holding us in your hearts as we navigate this loss.
With love,
The Maynor Family
