We are writing on behalf of our friend Alex Hansen. Alex is a brilliant and kind 24 year old young man living in Waterford NY, who has just been diagnosed with Metastatic Colon, Liver & Lung Cancer, Stage 4. This is a quickly evolving situation which has only come to our attention over the holidays. A recent visit to Urgent Care led to the discovery a tumor in his colon and further testing revealed that the cancer spread to his colon, liver & lungs; a Stage 4 diagnosis. This would be devastating news for anyone, but particularly so for a young person who should have decades of living ahead of him.

Alex is fortunate to have Health Insurance, but it is unclear how long this insurance will be in effect should he be unable to work for an extended period. His parents, Tom and Lisa, will not realistically be able to fully meet the financial needs this challenge presents. Tom, who is self-employed, is currently unable to work for the foreseeable future as he had both knees replaced in the last two months and anticipates traveling with his son to Boston and NYC for required treatment.

We ask for your support in helping Alex and his family meet the financial demands associated with travel expenses, living expenses and medical expenses.
