Support Alex During Her Cancer Treatment

Hi everyone,

As some of you may be aware, our beautiful friend Alex is currently facing one of life’s biggest battles. In April last year, she was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of Stage 3 Cervical Cancer.

The next few months that followed were full of heavy emotion as she adjusted to life with cancer. Alex underwent five weeks of radiation and chemotherapy. Followed by two weeks of brachytherapy. After completing her treatment, Alex had to wait three months to find out if the treatment had worked. The cervical cancer had responded to treatment, however it had spread and there was a new tumour outside of her uterus, in a position that is difficult to operate on.

Alex then began another four months of intense chemotherapy and immunotherapy. Unfortunately these treatments have not worked as well as we had hoped for and the tumour has grown in size.

The next step is major surgery, a type of pelvic exenteration. This requires a long hospital stay followed by months of recovery and more time off work.

Anyone who knows Alex knows she does not like to ask for help but it is now our turn to do what we can to help her.

While her family and friends are there to support Alex, we also understand the financial burden of medical expenses can be overwhelming. Any contribution, big or small, will help ease the pressure for Alex and Jeremy. These funds will go directly towards her treatment plan and daily living expenses, allowing her to focus on recovering.
