Please Help Support Aleta's Graduation Journey

Twelve years ago, I set out on a journey to earn my associate's degree. Along the way, my final destination and the terrain along the road to getting there changed. In 2015, I enrolled at Western Oregon University, and I started working toward my bachelor's degree. The journey has been long, and the road has been fraught with personal and financial obstacles and a worldwide pandemic, but at long last I am in the final stretch and my final term at WOU and the end is in sight... I just have one more hurdle I have to get over before I can begin my next adventure.

A change to my degree program and a 3-credit class I took way back in community college left me with 2 dangling credits at the start of this term that I needed to fulfill to meet my degree requirements. With some help from my advisor's, I was approved for an independent study, which I am working on concurrently with my other classes. Adding a 2-credit course to my schedule this term is allowing me to walk with my class in June, but it also increased my tuition. I was prepared to cover the expense, but life keeps on keeping on even when you can't afford it, and life had other plans. In the span of a single week, my personal computer stopped functioning properly and my car stopped running. I replaced the computer, and I had as much of the work done on my car as I could afford before my meager savings were depleted. Now that the dust has settled, I am left with a need I am unsure how to meet.

I owe $500 in tuition and fees to Western Oregon University, and they will not release my degree until this is paid. In addition to the tuition I owe, my car, though running right now, still needs around $800 in serious repairs, which I need to contend with before the problems get any worse and are beyond repair. I do not have a lot of options at this point. My classes and studies take up most of my time, so while I do have my eye on a couple of prospective jobs after I graduate, I simply can't take anything else on at the moment. Finances are tight for everyone, so I understand if you are unable to offer your help at this time, and I will gladly accept your prayers as an alternative with an open heart. But if you are able, will you please make a donation to my graduation fund today?

With all my love,

Aleta
