I am setting up this GoFundMe to help my niece. She is a Gold Star Mother who lost her son, along with eight others, in a training accident in the USMC when his Amphibious Assault Vehicle sank off of San Clemente Island in California. Due to the multiple investigations conducted by the Marine Corps and seven Board of Inquiries that were held to hold leadership accountable (Administrative Court Proceedings), she has been diagnosed with PTSD. She is also waiting on disability due to extreme back pain that has steadily increased over the last 12 years and is no longer able to work. She was a Senior Administrative Assistant at one of the Big Four Accounting Firms for the past 17 years before being laid off last October but was working mostly from the bed as sitting or standing long term causes extreme pain. Aleta cashed out her pension and has been living on those funds while trying to sell her home but the funds were quickly used in monthly mortgage and household expenses. Although Aleta wants to work, she is physically unable to and it takes a year or more to go through the disability application process in the State of Mississippi. I am asking for any assistance that you may be able to give to help her pay expenses for the next few months while waiting on disability approval. Aleta has helped me immeasurably over the last year with doctor visits and support as I am disabled due to having a widow-maker heart attack that caused extensive health issues so I want to help her during this time of need.
