Beloved Alessia is an 11-year-old student from Norwalk currently attending Nathan Hale Middle School as a homebound student. At this time, she is in critical care in the PICU.
Alessia lives with polymicrogyria, a rare neurological condition that affects brain development and daily functioning. Despite many challenges, she has faced life with remarkable strength and courage.
After years of worsening seizures, Alessia underwent brain surgery at Boston Children’s Hospital. Since returning home, her parents, Norma and Edison Quiroz, have provided around-the-clock care while also caring for their other two children.
Those who know Alessia know how playful and sweet she is — especially when she quietly pulls the covers over her head when she’s not in the mood to interact. She loves music, hugs, and being surrounded by the people who love her most.
This fundraiser will help support Alessia and her family with ongoing medical and daily living expenses during this incredibly difficult time. Any support or prayers are deeply appreciated
