Alesha Flore is my childhood best friend of 40 years, and truly, she is like a sister to me. We still talk every day, sometimes twice a day, and I have seen firsthand the kindness and strength she brings to everyone around her. Recently, Alesha was diagnosed with breast cancer. Even though surgery was able to remove the tumor, her team of doctors has prescribed chemotherapy and radiation to ensure she has the best chance at recovery.
Alesha is a dedicated Special Education teacher for KISD, where she has worked in the Special Education Department at different levels. The classroom is where she feels most at home, giving effortlessly and without pause to her students. Now, as she faces this new challenge, she is also the sole provider for her teenage son, Andrew, who is her greatest motivation to fight and fight hard. The funds raised here will help cover the unimaginable medical expenses, travel for treatments in Georgetown, and the many procedures she will endure over the next year. This is going to be a difficult time of adjustment for both Alesha and Andrew, and it’s time for us to tribe up and support her as she has supported so many others.
I am using this platform so it can be shared and so that you can write sweet messages of encouragement. Every dollar counts. I can tell you that this support will not be forgotten, and Alesha and Andrew will know that the community she has worked in is by her side in her 'Pink Girl Era.' Thank you for helping us show Alesha that she is not alone in this fight.
