Hey my name is Aleric Bell and I go to Mesa Ridge High School in Colorado Springs. I’m in speech and debate and qualified for nationals in Richmond, Virginia by placing first in the Colorado National Qualifying Tournament using my speech about sexual violence. My school very recently re-established a speech and debate team because it was disbanded 15 years ago. Because it’s so new , we don’t get much funding, which makes the person to person cost way higher than it is for most schools in our area. This is genuinely my dream to be able to go to a national competition one last time before I graduate.
