Support Alejo's Fight Against Deportation

Hello friends, family, and maybe strangers..... I am writing with a heavy heart as my partner/esposo Alejandro has been arrested by ICE officers and is being held in a prison correctional facility in Florence, AZ. Alejo went in for a regular check-in with ICE, not certain what would happen, despite us having a marriage case in process with USCIS and him having NO criminal history or record. Alejo did everything as justly and correctly as he could have with having minimal resources to receive papers and processes that would have left him back home in Colombia with no family for 10-15 years.

They did not give him a reason why he was being detained and they are in fact treating him like a criminal. He sits in a cell, with nothing allowed but phone calls and a few small daily meals. He is sharing a cell with twelve other men and there are no private bathrooms and no promise of when he can get out, if they don't forcibly deport him first.

Alejo is not a criminal and he has done nothing wrong to be deported back to his country where none of his major family and core support system remains. Including being separated from his partner, Chloe, who he shares a life with in Phoenix, including an apartment and two cats, Alby and Avril.

We need this money to help us pay for our lawyer which has already cost us well over $10,000 and now we must hope for a bond hearing where he could potentially be let out but these bonds can cost anywhere from $1,500 to $10,000.

I am calling on the community to help us get him out of there as quickly as we possibly can so we can continue living our lives together and get him the documentation he deserves and needs so he can continue being the most amazing and loving son, brother, nephew, cousin, and my husband. Alejo is the most harmless, talented, artistic, and joyous person who only wants to do good on this Earth and give back to his community. Please consider donating to this fund and help us free him from this mess, and bring some sense of justice to his family.

If anything, please spread this like wildfire and inform yourselves and others about the injustice and the cruelty of what is happening in this country where thousands upon thousands are being separated from their lives and their families without any sort of due process or hope for reunion.

Hola amigos, familiares y quizás desconocidos... Les escribo con gran pesar, ya que mi pareja, Alejandro, fue arrestado por agentes de ICE y se encuentra recluido en un centro penitenciario en Florence, Arizona. Alejo acudió a una cita de control con ICE, sin saber qué pasaría, a pesar de tener un caso matrimonial en trámite con USCIS y de que él no tenía antecedentes penales. Alejo hizo todo lo posible, con la mayor justicia y corrección posible, con recursos mínimos, para obtener los documentos y trámites que lo habrían dejado en Colombia, sin familia, durante 10 o 15 años.

No le explicaron por qué estaba detenido y, de hecho, lo tratan como a un delincuente. Está en una celda, sin permiso para nada más que llamadas telefónicas y algunas comidas ligeras al día. Comparte celda con otros doce hombres y no hay baños privados ni promesas de cuándo podrá salir, si no lo deportan primero.

Alejo no es un delincuente y no ha hecho nada malo para ser deportado a su país, donde no queda ninguno de sus familiares ni su principal fuente de apoyo. Esto incluye la separación de su pareja, Chloe, con quien comparte una vida en Phoenix, incluyendo un apartamento y dos gatos, Alby y Avril.

Necesitamos este dinero para pagar a nuestro abogado, que ya nos ha costado más de $10,000. Ahora debemos esperar una audiencia de fianza donde potencialmente pueda salir libre, pero estas fianzas pueden costar entre $1,500 y $10,000.

Alejo es la persona más inocente, talentosa, artística y alegre que solo quiere hacer el bien en este mundo y contribuir a su comunidad. Por favor, consideren donar a este fondo y ayúdennos a liberarlo de este desastre y a traer justicia a su familia.

Si acaso, por favor, difundan esto como un reguero de pólvora e infórmense, a ustedes mismos y a los demás, sobre la injusticia y la crueldad de lo que está sucediendo en este país, donde miles y miles de personas están siendo separadas de sus vidas y de sus familias sin ningún tipo de debido proceso ni esperanza de reencuentro.
