Our dear friend Alejandro needs our collective strength and support. If you know Alejandro, you know he lives to give love. He pours his heart into every relationship, interaction, and experience. Now, his own heart is tired and needs us to carry him.

Many of you know that in 2017, Alejandro survived a catastrophic cardiac arrest. For the past nine years, he has lived remarkably with a pacemaker and a heart pumping at just 13% capacity.

Now, his heart is weakening further. His medical team at Swedish Hospital and the UW Heart Institute in Seattle are preparing him for advanced therapies: a Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) heart pump and a potential heart transplant.

THE FINANCIAL BATTLE

Alejandro faces a rigorous gauntlet of medical tests, interviews, and heavy medication adjustments just to qualify for these next steps. Because of the severity of his condition and the intense schedule of appointments in Seattle, Alejandro is completely unable to work. He currently has zero income to sustain this massive health crisis.

None of these choices are easy, and none of them are cheap.
