Hello everyone,

This is Alejandra Guadalupe Dávila, sending you my warm greetings. I hope you are all doing well and in good health.

I would like to express my sincerest gratitude for the support and trust you have given me through this scholarship, which allows me to continue my studies in General Medicine and Surgery in Nicaragua. This opportunity has been truly invaluable for my academic and personal growth.

During this first semester, I had the wonderful opportunity to rotate through all the surgical areas, and it has been an incredible experience. Every day in the operating room has shown me how much I love this field — the precision, the teamwork, and the immediate impact a surgical intervention can have on a patient’s life. It has been a semester full of effort, learning, and fulfillment.

Now, in my second semester, I am currently rotating in Internal Medicine, which is more complex and demanding, but also fascinating. It is helping me strengthen my clinical knowledge and better understand patients from a more holistic perspective. However, I am increasingly convinced that my true calling is in surgery, as it is the area where I feel most passionate and capable of giving my best.

I am deeply grateful for your generosity, support, and the opportunity to continue growing. Your help not only allows me to move forward in my medical training but also keeps my motivation and dedication alive for this profession that I truly love. Next year, I will begin my fifth year of Medicine, and I am very excited about all the new things I will continue to learn and experience.

I am also sharing with you some images that reflect this journey — the places, experiences, and moments that have shaped me both as a future doctor and as a person.

Les saluda cordialmente Alejandra Guadalupe Dávila. Espero que se encuentren muy bien y llenos de salud.

Quiero expresar mi más sincero agradecimiento por el apoyo y la confianza que me han brindado a través de esta beca para continuar mis estudios de Medicina General y Cirugía en Nicaragua. Esta oportunidad ha sido verdaderamente invaluable para mi desarrollo académico y personal.

Durante este primer semestre he tenido la dicha de rotar por todas las áreas de cirugía, una experiencia que me ha marcado profundamente. Cada día en quirófano me ha permitido descubrir cuánto me apasiona esta rama de la medicina: la precisión, el trabajo en equipo y el impacto inmediato que puede tener una intervención en la vida de un paciente. Ha sido un semestre lleno de aprendizaje, esfuerzo y satisfacción.

Ahora, en este segundo semestre, me encuentro en el área de Medicina Interna, una asignatura más compleja y exigente, pero igualmente fascinante. Me está ayudando a fortalecer mis conocimientos clínicos y a comprender mejor al paciente desde una visión integral. Sin embargo, cada vez estoy más convencida de que mi vocación está en la cirugía, porque es el campo donde siento que puedo dar lo mejor de mí y donde realmente me apasiona servir.

Agradezco profundamente su generosidad, apoyo y la oportunidad de seguir creciendo. Su ayuda no solo me permite avanzar en mi formación médica, sino también mantener viva mi motivación y compromiso con esta profesión que amo. El próximo año iniciaré mi quinto año de Medicina, y me emociona pensar en todo lo que aún me espera por aprender y vivir.

Comparto con ustedes unas imágenes que reflejan parte de este camino, de los lugares, las experiencias y los momentos que me han hecho crecer como futura médica y como persona.
