We are setting up this GoFundMe to ask for help for Alec Kornegor and his family. Alec has become a close friend of mine over the last couple years. He has become a friend to many and is always helping people in their time of need. Alec’s smile and fun-loving nature brings those around him happiness and smiles.

Alec is currently 25 years old and was recently diagnosed with a rare form of MELAS disease (insert name and link). There is currently no known cure for this disease. Alec will be undergoing treatments to help him with his symptoms but unfortunately if a cure is not found the disease will eventually be fatal. The disease has affected Alec’s brain in the form of seizures which have caused some permanent brain damage. Though the extent of damage is unknown at this time Alec is currently unable to perform many tasks which he normally would. Alec has been in the hospital the for the last month while the doctors were attempting figure out his diagnosis. He is currently undergoing inpatient/outpatient rehab to help determine the amount of damage done to his brain and will for some time to come.

Due to this Alec is unable to work at his job which he loves and therefor does not have a stable income. We are asking for any help you can give to help Alec and his family pay for medical bills, rent, vehicle, etc. At this time, we are unsure how long Alec will be away from work.
