Hello, Friends,
I never imagined I would find myself in this situation, but I am reaching out because I truly need help. I wasn't able to work for three weeks during and after an emergency hospital stay, and without any paid time off, I couldn't pay my rent. My landlord was unwilling to work with me, so I am losing my housing. My dogs are my only family in the area, and I would never give them up because I love them dearly. It would be devastating if we couldn't remain together. Life outdoors is hard and not for the weak at heart or the weak willed. This is not an adventure or a vacation for me—it is survival and my only current option. Still, I am determined to do everything I can to improve the situation, stay safe, and care for my dogs.
I have tried to secure transitional housing that allows dogs, but all the places are full right now, though I am on a waiting list and keeping my fingers crossed. I can't stay with my former job because living in a car or tent in the city isn't possible, and I have no place for my dogs to go during the workday. I am working hard to find something—anything—I can do online, but I need a secure mobile hotspot to do remote work. Many places I can camp don't have reliable cell service or only a very weak signal. Your support would help me cover my most basic needs, like food and gas, keep up with car insurance and maintenance so I have a safe place to stay, and pay for medications until I am able to get Medicaid. Every bit of help brings me closer to stability and a fresh start.
If you are able to contribute or share my story, I would be deeply grateful. Thank you for taking the time to read about my situation and for any support you can offer. Your kindness means more than words can say.
