On the morning of March 13th, my husband was arrested and detained by ICE while driving to work. It’s been almost 4 months since he left his three children and me.

Over the past 4 months, I have hired attorneys, paid unimaginable legal fees, and sent Aldo money for commissary and phone calls, all while keeping up with household bills, groceries, car payments, and gas. I am an RN at the children’s hospital in Louisville, and I haven’t missed one shift since this nightmare began.

On May 18, Aldo was given an unfair bond hearing. He had 30 character witnesses logged into the virtual courtroom, and none of them were let in. Our children and I weren’t let in. The immigration judge was an ex-ICE attorney who had worked for them for about 7 years. His attorneys fought for him, emphasizing his lack of a criminal record, his contribution to his community, his full-time job, his US citizen wife and children who need him at home, yet he was still deemed a flight risk and danger to the community with no data to back it up. We are currently appealing this decision but likely won’t have an answer for months.

As of right now, Aldo’s next court date is July 10. This hearing will decide everything. Our lawyers informed me it is a 3-hour trial, where they will go over every piece of evidence I’ve gathered for Aldo, and determine if he is a candidate for cancellation of removal. They also informed me this is a very expensive trial and will cost me $5,000 to secure his legal defense.

As most of you know, we previously had a GoFundMe in March where we raised almost $6,000. I want to assure you that this money went straight to Aldo’s attorneys. This journey has been unbelievably expensive and painful, and I never imagined I would have to make a second GoFundMe. At this time, I am seeking donations to help with securing the attorneys for Aldo’s trial.

Any amount is greatly appreciated, and if you’re unable to donate, please just consider sharing this page. Prayers for a good outcome are also needed and appreciated.

Thank you so very much,
