On Wednesday, November 27, Alberto sustained nearly fatal fire injuries to his face, chest, arms, and worst of all, his hands. He was standing in the bed of his work truck when equipment he was gassing up exploded. He jumped off the truck and rolled to put himself out. The skin from one of his legs was used to graft some skin for his right hand that sustained the more severe injuries. Alberto got flown to Phoenix to Valleywise Burn Center.

To make a shitty situation worse, his cell phone was stolen from his room while he was in surgery. Yes, while he was in surgery!! The hospital is not taking responsibility so far, but that's a fight for a different day. His fiancé, newborn, and he live in Yuma. You can imagine how much it's costing to cover gas, food, and lodging. Thankfully, we have amazing family members who are putting in overtime helping us all out. But the bills still have to be paid. In this economy, we are truly all one tragedy away from having nothing.
