Hi, we’re Ariana and Alexa—two best friends who believe in showing up where love is needed most.

During a recent trip to Agua Prieta, Sonora, we visited Albergue Ruiz Patitas de Amor, a local dog shelter run by one extraordinary woman, Flora Ruiz Gonzaga. She began with a single stray dog—and now, years later, she cares for over 200. People have come to leave dogs outside her home, knowing she won’t turn them away.

We were heartbroken to witness the conditions she lives in and the limited resources she has, yet she continues to give everything she can to these animals. Despite having minimal social media presence and receiving less than $50 a week in donations, Flora prioritizes the dogs’ well-being—even if it means skipping meals herself. She showed us her donation account, and we saw firsthand the struggle she faces to keep these dogs fed, safe, and healthy.

Flora has poured her entire heart into rescuing, healing, and loving these animals. But she can’t do it alone anymore.

This fundraiser was created by us, Ariana Sanchez and Alexa Bojorquez, on behalf of Flora. Flora does not have a U.S. bank account, so we will personally handle the funds and deliver every penny directly to her. For full transparency, we will record a video when we hand her the donations. Flora also has access to this GoFundMe account via shared login details and is aware of all contributions.

This is more than a fundraiser—it’s a call to action. Every donation will go directly toward food, medicine, and essential care for the animals. All of the dogs are also available for adoption, and Flora ensures that each one is spayed or neutered.
