Alba is a beloved member of the Montclair community, living in Newark, and has worked as a nail technician for many years at a local Montclair nail salon, where she has built a loving and loyal customer base. On Tuesday, May 20th, during what was supposed to be a routine immigration check-in, Alba was detained by ICE and moved to the Elizabeth detention center. She has faithfully attended these check-ins for over a decade.

Alba is the devoted mother of two US citizen children, including a non-verbal autistic child who relies on her daily care and support. Her detention has left her family facing both emotional and financial challenges. With Alba unable to work, her family has lost a vital stream of income, making it difficult to cover basic living expenses and the mounting legal fees required to fight for her release.
