For nearly 70 years, Albany Community Kindergarten has been part of our city’s story. Since 1955, three generations of families have begun their learning journey here, building friendships and memories that last a lifetime. We are one of only 16 community kindergartens in WA, and the only one to own our own building, which makes us both unique and truly community-led.
As we approach our 70th year, we are committed to keeping our much-loved facility strong, welcoming, and compliant for the future. Although our building is safe, it contains a small amount of asbestos (13%). To continue meeting compliance standards, we are undertaking a staged upgrade to get below 10%, beginning with the eaves and the foyer area.
This project comes at a cost. While we are actively applying for grants, community support will make a huge difference. Every donation will help us cover the expenses of:
- Removing non-compliant asbestos materials
- Replacing them with compliant, modern alternatives (materials and labour)
As a community-led, not-for-profit organisation and registered charity, we rely on the generosity of people like you. Your support will help preserve an Albany institution that has supported children and families for almost 70 years and will continue to do so for generations to come.
Every little bit helps. If you can donate funds, materials, or time, it will all make a real difference. Together, we can ensure Albany Community Kindergarten remains a trusted, compliant, and vibrant place for the children of today and tomorrow.
